How does the rating system work?
Disabled Access Rating 

Each business is rated on their basic accessibility facilities. A business does not have to tick all of the points to qualify for that star, but possess at least 1 requirement.


 1 - Poor Access
  • Step(s) at entrance, no ramp
  • No automatic door or an access doorbell
  • No option for collection at the door
  • No audio loop where applicable.

2 - Partial Access
  • Step-free entrance or portable ramp (Level access)
  • Manual door, but access doorbell may be available
  • Collection at the door available

3 - Good Access
  • Fully step-free entrance
  • Automatic doors or clearly marked access doorbell
  • Collection at the door available on request
  • Audio loop installed

4 - Excellent Access
  • Fully step-free entrance
  • Automatic doors or clearly marked access doorbell
  • Collection at the door available on request
  • Audio loop installed
  • Accessible toilet where applicable. Plus any additional efforts made such as a BSL interpreter member of staff, or other adjustments made to the benefit of disabled customers.
